RIM – BlackBerry Tablet to hit the market soon

RIM would be playing catch up with Apple's iPad, which went on sale in the spring. RIM competes with Apple in the smartphone market with its Storm and Storm 2 devices.

Marvell is working with OLPC to develop that organization's tablet.

This device was expected to be launched next year but according to analysts they are trying to push the launch to later this year. There will be a front and back cameras for video conferencing.

Well it's like I've said, with more devices like this on the market, I guess we can conclude that Steve Jobs was right....again.

Android growing at the expense of iPhone

In the midst of a generation 4 launch of the iPhone the Android platform is on the rise. Since February this year everyone has been taking a hit except Android, as covered by ArsTechnica today.

"Still, RIM kept its top spot with 41.7 percent of the overall market as of May 2010, followed by Apple at 24.4 percent and Microsoft at 13.2 percent. Google/Android stood at a solid 13 percent in May thanks to its four percentage point increase, and could very well overtake Microsoft by the time comScore releases its next MobiLens report."

It is great for Google to be able to keep on growing in this enormously competitive space of Smartphones. It will be delightful to follow this trend and if this continues, Android should be able to take the lead in this market sometime in the year 2012.

iPad – OMG!!!

Here it is finally. I was in New York in March and I just had to imagine holding it in my hand standing there in the Apple Store on 5th Avenue. It's actually like an underground store.... but anyway.

http://www.apple.com/ipad/

What can I say - is it useful? What will I potentially use it for? No Flash... is that good or bad? Well, actually it's bad for me because all the games my company designs are made in flash but what the heck... perhaps HTML 5 will become an instant hit ...one day.

But you have to adore Apple for doing this.
